The answer is YES! My Girlfriend and I brought our 14ft Hobie Mirage i14t with us to Northern Wisconsin this weekend and had a fantastic time. I modified our clam shell camp trailer to take the Kayak, hooked it on the back of the Goldwing and off we went. She rode the Wing, and I took the V-Strom. It was the maiden voyage for the Kayak and it worked perfectly.
Here are some pictures:
It sure is TH, I might even go for the "Turbo" fins as there is not much resistance with the stock ones, but it flies right along, smooth as silk. Next I'm going to try a bit of fishing from it and see how that goes. :yesnod:
That thing is tiny! I wanted the Mirage drive and the tandem layout so my Girl and I could go out together. It was also tricky finding one rated for my, ummm, rather ample girth... :yikes:
If I ever managed to wiggle into that hole, I don't think I'd ever get back out...
A friend of mine towed a 14 sail boat from Michigan to Colorado. With a wing it's not that big a deal as long as one is careful, that is a lot of weight when stopping.
