Or is it stock? I'm going through my new to me 02 Vee and I came across this link. It looks different than the link on my Wee. The previous owner said he didn't think it was lowered but it seems lower than my Wee which is stock height. My understanding of lowering links is the longer the link the more the bike is lowered. If I'm right on that based on the pic below is the bike at it's highest position?
Have you checked your suspension sag settings? A loaded bike, including people, ought to settle about 40mm from full extension (suspension supporting no weight).
It's common to scrape the center stand if you corner moderately aggressive on this bike. You're supposed to have a longer feeler in your left peg for it, but I'm sure it departed a while ago if its like others.
The lowering links are so close to stock at highest position, it's unnoticeable. If you want to raise the bike, raising links are good, or you can get a bigger rear tire like I did. Personal preference. The lowering link will not have any adverse affects if left installed. You could try and sell them to someone with a GSXR, they would be more likely to buy it from you than someone with a strom, as the adjustable links are more popular for our bikes.
I've not checked the sag. I just cranked everything up to the hardest setting. I forgot about the little brass colored screw down by the dogbone and turned that over to the hard setting. Maybe that will help. The center stand seems very low. I've got an sw motech on my wee and there is much more clearance than what ever stand is on the vee. The odd thing is that to have the center stand return to the stowed position the side stand will get in the way. So you have to put the center stand up followed by the sidestand, if you do it reverse you need to lower the sidestand a bit to allow the center to return to the highest stowed position.
