A week or so ago I posted some questions about steering head bearings. The response was impressive. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.
So here's another one. My buddy and I are planning a multi week trip to the Pacific Northwest via South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho then on to Washington and well hit Oregon. Any suggestions on Must See stuff, roads etc? We're already planning on Little Big Horn, Bad Lands, Black Hills, Yellow Stone, Glacier NP. We will be camping half the time and looking for Mom 'n Pops for the other nights. Plan on leaving in August so I have some planning time. Thanks in advance.

In Washington

Route 20 over the No Cascades really is great.
Cayuse and Chinook Pass as well as Sunrise, maybe Paradise, on Mt Rainier.
Running up to Hurricane Ridge on the OlyPen, then looping the Peninsula and crossing into Oregon in Astoria.
Sounds like a great time.
August will be a great month, weather wise.
Have fun!

Hot springs! Hot springs! Hot springs!

I know there are some in Yellowstone but it's been twenty-plus years since I was in 'em. As I recall, they're at the northern end of the park alongside a river where you can get in the springs and "adjust the temperature" to your liking by moving closer to/farther away from the river.

Lotsa hot springs out in Washington. Research them.

Back in my day, I backpacked a lot and there was NOTHING like gettin' nekkid and soaking in a natural hot spring after a few days of hiking. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yellow Stone is Awesome. If you have time . include the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole in your trip. It's close enough to YS that not going there would be a bummer. Swing into the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and have one for me......

If you want to stay in Yellowstone, you have to pre-book accommodations. Everything fills up way before the season starts. If you go there and try to find something, its very hard.

We went there in July and had to drive back out to stay in a town West of the park. Nothing in the park available.
