I have purchased Givi crash bars..these require removal and replacement of the allen head bolts that affix the subframe to the main frame..What are the torque settings for these bolts?...I assume that I can get a 6mm allen headed 1/2" drive socket for my torque wrench...

It's best not to use a 1/2" drive torque wrench on small bolts. They tend to be inaccurate. The proper torque is 16.5lb-ft. The service manual has the wrong spec. Use the 25.5lb-ft it says and you'll join a number of people who have broken bolts and stripped frames.

I'm assuming you are talking about the right and left "engine mounting brackets", for a total of eight fasteners. The manual calls for a torque of 35 N.m, 3.5 kgf.m or 25.5 lb.ft. (The manual is wrong. 16.5lb-ft is correct.) Use blue medium strength locktite or equivalent.

A 6mm allen socket will more than likely be 3/8 drive. No big deal.

OK, go what GW says. And I use my 3/8 drive torque wrench - it is more accurate at the lower torques.
