Regarding that matte strip on the gas tank, I was doing some research and found a product called Dr. Beasleys that is supposed to be great for the matte finish as it's advisable to not use regular carnauba wax.
Has anyone else heard of a product(s) designed for the matte paint finish?
After I took off the tank decals, for some reason I used Mother's Cleaner/polish to get rid of the last bit of glue residue.
To my surprise, the tank took a shine, so I did it again and now wax it about once a month. Looks good, almost like it was supposed to look that way and matches the other shiny black on the frame.
My 'other bike' has a matte finish. I got it so I wouldn't have to worry about polish. Isn't that the idea behind a matte finish?
My Wee is working towards a matte finish due to a lack of polishing....it's coming along nicely!
My sentiments almost exactly! I never tend to the paint on my Vee because I don't want it to be as pretty as it was from the factory. Eventually I'll likely paint it matte, maybe.
