Removing front sprocket cover

I noted that some Stroms have a cable clutch line but my 2005 Vee is hydraulic.

Not wanting to muck up anything when I change my front sprocket (and not finding a thread with a specific procedure for a hydraulic clutch line Vee), I broke out the old shop manual last night and finally found the procedure under Section 3 for removing the engine. The steps are to:

-Bind the clutch lever with a rubber band to prevent the clutch release cylinder piston from coming out. (I am sure glad I read this because I wouldn't have thought to do it.)

-Remove the clutch release cylinder
-Remove the push rod (probably don't need to do that)

-Remove the speed sensor. (What the hell is that?)

-Remove the engine sprocket nut and washer while depressing the brake pedal. (It doesn't say whether it is a right or left had thread so I'll assume right hand and like Greywolf suggested, remove it with an air impact gun)

It looks fairly straightforward but is there anything else I should know before getting started?

That about covers it. The speed sensor is next to the clutch slave, and then you'll also have to take off the speed sensor "drive" (not sure the exact term) off the countershaft sprocket nut before hitting it with the impact gun. 32mm nut on my bike. You don't have to remove the push rod, but do take the time to clean out all the gunk that has accumulated in there. You will need to leave the bike on the ground with the rear brake on, and in gear ... so it's a 2 person job.

You do not need to tie off the brake lever, every time I have done that my slave cylinder has poped out. I just did this yesterday and with no tie off, all was good. Do zip tie the slave cylinder together after removal to keep the piston in though.Speed sensor is removed with an allen key. Proceedure here

Vees have hydraulic clutches. 650s have cable clutches.
