Not what you're looking for, but another direction:
I sewed a small loop of 1/2" webbing on my ignition key. When the bike's running the only key in the triple tree is the ignition key and the only thing attached to it is a short loop of webbing which does no damage.
My other keys (garage, luggage) are on a ring which is on a 1" loop with velcro on the ends. This is sized to wrap around the front brake and grip to provide an 'emergency brake'. These keys ride in my pocket. When I'm off the bike, I thread the ignition key's loop onto the velcro loop so they're all together.
No triple tree damage, I always have a velcro strap, I can get in my luggage and garage with the bike running, I'll never lose my keys.
I don't put any other keys on my ignition key. The weight and movement will wear the lock out in time on a bike or cage.
