I rode home in the rain yesterday, about 40 minutes with my Sidi Adventure boots on and my left foot was soaked when I got home. They are about two years old and have light use on them. They look almost new. Has anyone else had experienced water leaks with the Sidi's if so can you give advise on stopping them from leaking? Thanks for the help.

I know that I would be contacting them and explaining the situation. They may do nothing for you or maybe they will just step up and replace them. If they didn't it would be the last product I bought from them.

I wear Sidi Way Rain boots. 3 or 4 years old. Seemed to be fine for occasional rain, but during a ride two years and ago and another one year ago both of which were hours of riding in solid rain, they leaked badly. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from a water resistant boot. Last month I finally purchased some TourMaster boot covers for times when I'll be doing an extended ride in the rain. BTW - the breathability on these in the summer is lacking. Next set of boots I'll look more seriously at something with GoreTex.

I sent a e-mail to Sidi asking for consideration. The boots are made with Gore-Tex so I would think they should not leak. Their ad says water proof. I have worn Sidi products for many years in roadracing and bicycling and have been very satisfied up to the problem. Well I guess I have to wait and see.

Maybe I was wrong about the Gore-Tex being in these boots. There seem to be two adventure boots the rain and Gore-Tex. I believe I have the rain boot. It cost $400.00. In any case if you name the boot rain it should not leak water. Is there a product you can spray on them to help keep them dry?

Is it possible the water worked in from the top? Even with waterproof overpants or frog toggs over the boots, water can work up and into the boot tops (unless you seal or duct tape the tops ) especially during a long extended rain.

I had the same problem. @ 2 years old and both boots failed epically. They had me send them back, they tested them and found that they were defective and sent me a new pair.

The Adventure Rains are not Gore-Tex. But Sidi's customer service was pretty impressive. They will ask you to send them a picture of the boots and then to send them back.

There's your answer! My old Sidi City boots still don't leak and they got a gob of wet miles on them.
I have had rain get under rain pants and come in the top of boot before though. Can't have a gap at the bottom for the wind to drive the rain up.

The water didn't come from the top. I had Aerostich Darien pants on over the boots and the only thing that got wet was my left foot bottom and toes. From the top of my foot up was dry. I rode last year in the rain and never got my feet wet. That's why it surprised me a little.
