Well it's official, I'm off to Alaska. Iv'e been planing this for awhile, but now I'm past all of the things that would have held me back.
My plan is to leave 7/10, and yes I know that is later than most, but that's when I can get away. I set a very easy pace going north. I'll head up the west coast of Florida and bang a left, work my way into the west of Texas and then turn North ish. I gave my self 25 days to make it to Deadhorse. the trip back will be, head east through Canada and then south somewhere around Lake Superior.
On the way up I'll make a real effort to stay off big roads, enjoy the view, stop and take part in local events, but on the way home if it's going my direction I'm gone.
I've started a blog that i think will be easier to up date with photos and such as I go. I've practiced some already and it seams fine, I'll be using a Galaxy tab for my updates and a memory card to get pictures from my camera to the g-tab for uploading. After I'm back and rested I'll try to pull everything together and do a ride report.
Thanks for all the inspiration this winter, reading ride reports, getting tips, and all the mechanical stuff has been a huge help. Any off the wall tips, things I may have overlooked, or spots I just shouldn't miss would be appreciated.
Happy trails and i hope to see some of you all the path.
