April Florida Meet and Greet

Any candidate date ?
The 8th is too soon.
The 15th is Easter Eve.
I'd say either the 22nd or the 29th.
Personally I'd see the 29th, so we have more time to gather ideas and lay the plan.
Speaking of which, how does Islamorada sounds ?
We could cross Miami and head south, on the way back have lunch at Alabama Jack, famous for conch fritters and enjoy the ocean view all the way down and back.
Input! Input! Input !

Ciao

Ciao, Y'all !

Marco,

Don't want to high-jack this thread, but there's a thread discussing an April ride here https://www.stromtrooper.com/forum/vi...=4217&start=45 .

I'd planned to start a thread for the April ride once I got the go ahead for Charlie.

Not sure who has the rights to organize the April ride. Maybe we can get Charlie to meditate?

M&G

Hi guys!!

Glad to see that ideas and suggestions for the next M&G are been posted. Personaly the 15th is best for me. Remember we have the Leesburg bike Fest going on the 28th to the 30th. I try not to take 2 weekends for myself in a row. It's in my best interest to keep everyone in the family happy

...and on my way home I remember the struggle of a day under the sun through hills and valleys...over rivers and lakes...conquering the beast that carries me in a stream of wind...a smirk creeps thru as I say in a calm yet impatient way...can't wait!...

Actually, I'd suggest we move that discussion here, or at least in the future start a new thread for each new ride. That would make things a little easier to follow.

That's the reason why I started the thread.
Now, whether I organize it or somebody else does, it's perfectly fine with me.
The important thing is to HAVE a ride soon, right ?!

WOW, great, I love to see this kind of participation, Yes Mike has already started the April route, Marco you may have the next one and thank you for wanting to do it.

I agree that a new thread should be started with each ride.
At the dinner part of the ride should be lightly discussed whom will lead the next.

Understand it is not just throwing a route together and us all ride it.
You need to ride it to make sure all things are OK with the route, detours etc. Dinner place closing, just kidding Lou.
Try to see what part of the month that most riders can attend.
See where the riders come from and see how long their ride down and back home from the ride will be. Some riders stay over night so maybe the host can find out about some close hotels and send info to those who want to stay overnight.
The length of the ride is not as important as the ride itself. Sweepers, twisties, great place for pictures. Rides should have a Start (place for coffee/quick smack) but on the road by 12 or 12:30 at the latest.
Midway point, A must for pictures, individual pictures and pictures of riders riding a sweep. Action pictures. After all who don't like to look at their self in the picture part of the aftermath/thread.
Sorry to make this so long but I have seen several riders leave early for reasons and we don't get to sit around our last meal of the ride together and BS.
Reasons: maybe the ride was to long, maybe going to late into the day/evening.
Daylight saving is just around the cornor so that will help a lot.
REMEMBER, when you play your ride, make it YOUR ride, have fun planing it, riding it and then sharing it with us.
Enjoy and see you all soon.
Charlie
ps: if any help is needed planning the ride you can always ask someone who has already led one. Each and every new ride will always be better just from what we learned from the other riders.

Now I will shut up, sorry

Send a message via AIM to Trooper246
This is turning out to be a very active group and I am glad to see it.

April 15th is out for me due to work. I can do both the 22nd and the 29th.

I talked with Marco yesterday and the I will start looking at routes around Lake Okeechobee. There are a great deal of nice camping sites in the area and a casino on the west side.
