Welcome to the forum, lilzip24.

From time to time, the Stromtroopers in Florida are friendly and involved.

Currently, we do not seem to be doing much, or at least not saying much.

I think the most active and vigorous members have either moved away
or else purchased other manufacturers' machinery, so they are active elsewhere.

I am heading north for a while, but I will try to stir up some activity in late May.

Meanwhile, enjoy getting acquainted with your fine new machine.
You could visit the New Smyrna Beach Airport, because it sometimes hosts
some fine vintage aircraft, even World War II bombers and fighters.

Best wishes,
Keith

Thanks for responding Keith. I've heard good things about the Fly-ins over there. I will definitely check that out.

Yes welcome to the fold. New DL1000?! Sweet!
If seeking some honest info or advise Keith is a good one to remeber. He has a lot of time here on the form and many many miles of riding experience and machanical experience on his Wee Strom. You wil find the DL is a rock solid reliable bike that can gobble up the miles, and when outfitted with some bags it is perfectly willing to do long haul trips. Believe me..... I know!!

Been riding in Maine, and the weather has been great... finally. Miss riding with you all there in FL. Maybe it's in the cards in the Winter months. Not sure about this annual snow stuff. Welcome to the board.

Live up North (MA) right now but have a place in Palm Coast. I plan on being there full time in the Spring of 2016 with my DL1000 and will be looking to ride with others. I went to the BMWNEF rally this year and met several guys from the Daytona area who have adventure bikes of various makes. It was a good place to network.

Hope to meet the local V Stromers when I move down there. I did notice another DL1000 parked outside a realetors office in Flagler Beach last time I was in town.

In the recent past, there have been several get-togethers per year here,
but we Floridian Stromtroopers have been idle or otherwise occupied,
or even otherwise located, to a really disgraceful extent.

I am hoping to organize a Zombie expedition to Okeechobee (the city),
because several of us enjoyed such an outing a few years ago, and I think
the administration of Okeechobee County deserves some praise for their
approach to hurricane readiness.

They realize that many residents say, "Oh, hurricanes? Well, we used to have
those things, but that was long ago, and I have to polish my golf clubs ... ",
so they have presented an advisory document to guide us in the event of
a Zombie Apocalypse. You can look this up by searching for Zombie Okeechobee, and see for yourself.

It happens that the perpetrator of this stuff has a name similar to mine,
so I want to ride over there and treat him to a lunch and see what other
clever ideas he might have.

When? Probably near the Summer Solstice, when the nights are shortest
and the Zombies have most difficulty hiding in the darkness, don'tcha know.

Just now I am a tad busy with real-world concerns.
My Wee-Strom is hundreds of leagues away, but I have another bike
that will handle the ride to Okeechobee just fine. I would imagine that
we may get as many as five Stromtroopers (probably 2 on Stroms).

Rusty? Curtis? Anyone else?
Let's go smack some zombies ... or at least look under some rocks.

Keith
