Any one interested in a ERC course???

I am wondering if anyone else would be an MSF ERC course? That is an Experienced Rider Course. I have made some initial contact MSF to start the process out. Get in touch with me if interested. Might like to set it up for next couple of months. PM with your interest.

Jim,

I called all the local (Gainesville) outfits that teach the courses 6 or so months ago and told them that I had at least two folks interested in the ERC. They took my number and told me they would get back with me when they had a class. I have not heard from them since. I suspect they lost my information.

Rick and I are definitely interested but we would prefer to do it locally if possible. Please do keep me posted on what arrangements you come up with and I'll run it by the boss and see what he says. I guess I need to call the local guys again.

Right now I am just gathering info on who might be interested in taking the course. I think we could get about 10/12 of our folks interested in it. Let me know what everyone thinks about when.

Jim:

I took the ERC class with MSF in Miami last September and wasn't thrilled about the experience. I don't think I learned more than when I took the class to pass my license and I consider myself a novice.

Unhappy ERC Course update

As of right now, the only one interested is Winnie and I would need at least 12 people wanting to take the coursse to beging the proceedings with MSF. I will keep it on the back burner in case it should come up again. Sorry, but not interest.

I see that Jean-Marc did not think his class productive but I've talked with others who said they got a lot out of it. I suppose it all depends on the instructor.
Jim, Thanks for checking. I'm surprised at the lack of interest but then I've only been riding for about 4 years and I know that I've got a lot to learn. I doubt I will ever feel that I'm a pro at anything especially riding safe and smart. BTW Rick is interested and so is Wolfgang and I have a few other friends in the Gainesville area who are interested. I'll see if I can get a class up in the Gainesville area. If I come up with one I'll post to the site.

Winnie,

I would have to agree with your comment about the instructor. That makes all the difference in the world. If the instructor is out there because he enjoys teaching folks how to be safe while riding a motorcycle, you are probably going to have a great experience. If they're out there for the money, it might not be quite as fulfilling.

Personally I believe in taking a riding course every couple of years. Whether it is the BRC, ERC, Race School or whatever else you can think of. Each time you're on a motorcycle, if you're smart, you're also learning how to be better!

Of course this is just my opinion.

Cool Anytime!!!!

Winnie if you are able to put one together, I will be third to sign up (right after you and Rick). Keep us posted as to what you come up with. I'd even come up to G'ville for the course. LOL!!!!

Question Erc

Jim, Marty, I have some questions about the ERC. I just got back into riding last June when I bought my DL1000. The BRC was a great thing to do after being in a cage for 18 years.(Great instructors at ACE in Sanford) I have put almost 8,000 miles on the Strom since last June and don't know if I'm ready for the ERC. I know my skills have improved so when is the right time to do this? do you use your own bike for the class? is there a chance of dropping my new Strom? or do they provide bikes like in the BRC? how tough is the class? is there a pass or fail? and how much does it cost?
Lots of question from an old newbie

Thanks, Mystrom
