Poor "Customer Service"

Dear Suzuki,

I just called your Customer Service number, and had a less than happy contact.

Background...

I bought a new K6 DL1000, it has a surging problem - dealer replaced ECU OK'd by Suzuki.

New ECU caused injector to be blown out of boot while I'm on vacation.

Dealer in Vermont (where I was on vacation), could not get to it for a "couple of days", but puts the injector back in the boot - AND CHARGES ME $48.00 for what I feel should be warranty work. Their reason was I didn't let them fix it.

Took bike back to my dealer - and was told Suzuki OK'd another ECU, and that the first replacement should not be used.

I called Customer Service and the fellow on the phone told me - Sorry, but that was between me and the dealership up in Vt.

Do you understand the bad will this generates? When I told him that this would probably mean this is the first and last Suzuki I will ever buy, he said that was OK. Do you really not need more customers? Do you sell enough Gixxers to not care about the rest of your line?

Respectfully,
Bob S.

Wow- customer service folks being what they are I would not necessarily let this one interaction color your perception of the entire company.

I feel for you though. I think we all have these stories from some company or another. Sometimes it is good to vent to a sympathetic group.

Personally I think the dealer model for motorcycles and cars is absolutely archaic and should be done away with.
