turn signals & emg flashers

It would be great for safety if the turn signals would turn them selves off after 20 seconds =

If "Emg." means "Emergency" you might want to look right beside your left thumb. That's where the switch is on mine.

to be honest I liked the idea of blinkers that turned off after 20 sec then realized I have spent 5 min at intersections. Last thing I want is the light to not be there.

I had self canceling turn signals on a 1978 Yamaha XS1100E. They went out after a set distance and set time both elapsed. I was constantly signaling twice for each turn and manually canceling. I didn't like them one bit.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

It would be really great if Suzuki made the turn signals so that they are visible in the daytime. What a concept!

It is an intentional flaw in the bike. Suzuki realized we would need something to fix and/or crab about.

There are after market units available to add a self cancel feature. However, they aren't cheap, so it depends on how badly you want the feture.

add some sort of noise maker like a 12volt buzzer or bell chime. prolly available from the local radio shack store......better reminder than having to use the repeater light on dash panel. Manuvering thru an intersection, getting lane position and playing "dodge car" doesn't make the idiot lite very useful. I usually find mine winking at me somewhere down the road after the turn. it seems to blink out idiot, idiot, idiot in morse code.
course this only works on bikes with reasonable noise levels, some just depend on loud exhaust to make themselves seen.
yellow has a nice little buton on left grip housing that seems to switch the emeg. flashers.....just the 08's ??

I've thought of that also......or maybe another idiot light somewhere up higher on the dash/windshield.
My 2000 ZRX1100 front turn signals are two-way.......running lights and turn signals. Seems like a safe thing to do??

Ride the bike more. Cancelling the signals, like anything else, can become a habit. You remember to turn them on, right?
