Close the loop!

Put an 02 sensor on it so people don't have to get their bikes' ECUs remapped. That's absolute nonsense.

I got my Wee-strom (first motorcyle, first motorcycle I've ever been on period) and scared the snot out of myself.

Depends on the complexity of the ecu and programing. If the ecu is sophisticated enough, then good idea, if not then it just makes it that much harder to get a good tune. I'm struggling with a stand alone closed loop system on a car right now. The O2 sensor is narrow band and I can't get it in the sweet spot, but I can get it to run well in open loop.

A simple PID controller isn't that hard to calibrate.

Did you take actual a/f measurements while the thing is running open loop and then alter the closed loop map using that as a baseline?
