Dealer problem

I really wonder if Suzuki reads any of this, but from what I have experienced, you have a real dealer problem. It stems from the "big box" type stores putting the small dealer out of business and results in big shops full of people who know nothing about what they are selling and not staoking any of the commonly needed parts.

Add to this the fact that almost none wil give test rides and the Non-Japanese brands sure look good.

I'm surprised Suzuki doesn't take a page from Yamaha's book with the test ride deal. My local Yamaha dealer is all about the test ride, I don't even have to ask and they're trying to give me keys to ride one of their machines. I don't understand why I should be expected to turn over thousands of dollars for a machine that I've only given a "test sit".

Exclamation What happened to customer service

This is my second "Out of the Showroom" Bike from Suzuki. Last year I did the mid-life purchase - GS500f. After about 500 miles it would smoke at start up like a BBQ Roast in the park. This started in the summer where we have 100F in the high desert. So in Aug/Sep 2007, the dealer agreed that this is not normal-I should drive 500 mi. more then return. 500 mi. later in early Dec. Suzuki then Claims the smoke is normal for this time of year.
2008 - very warm weather the little P.O.S. still smoked. Got rid of it finally, traded it in for a Versys from Kawasaki. Suzuki of America would not honor the warrenty or admit that the compression was below specs. Kawasaki gave me very good money for the GS500f compared to what Suzuki would have given me.
I'm hoping that MY Weee and service is better this year. Paid cash. It's a beautiful bike, but if customer service is non-existant again- I'm sure the Germans would appreciate my business.

Looks like we need some bot filters!

I agree with the top post though!

It's as if my dealer was excited to get paid, but once I had the bike it was as if they had no idea what it was. Until I wrecked it, and the guy even told me straight up "Well if something has even a small scratch on it we say that you need an entirely new one." That's why my $400 wreck was labeled as a $5600 wreck and I did most of the work coordinating the repairs and what parts I needed.

These people are supposed to know all about bikes and it seems they couldn't figure out how to get me rolling again cause I didn't want to pay them $5600.
