Tell me I'm wrong

Tell me I'm wrong. I'm new to the world of motorcycles --- about a year ago I bought a used Kawasaki Vulcan. Then I found the Kawasaki website. I registered my bike by VIN and was immediately able checked on itís warranty and recall status. I was able to look up parts and part numbers specific to that VIN on microfiche. There was a contact us html. Although I never had cause to check out that link, it was nonetheless reassuring just knowing it was there. As it turns out the Vulcan cruiser just wasnít my kind of bike, so I sold it. After some research the little V Strom 650 came to looked to be my kind of bike so I bought a new Ď04í model. It was then I learned that the only document I was to receive from Suzuki and/or their dealer was a poor copy of a sales receipt. In an effort to confirm that lack of written warranty I went to http://www.suzukicycles.com --- if there was a customer to Suzuki communication link there I didnít find it. It took more looking but I finally found a telephone number, called Suzuki and talked to one of their representatives. The guy was cordial and told me that I did in fact have a one year unlimited mileage warranty but not to expect anything in writing. Wow! That came across as a kick in the head --- sure hope I never have cause to need that guarantee. My feeling itís worth little more than the paper itís not written on. I really like that little V Strom --- Suzukiís engineering and production would appear to be good stuff, but their business management and sales operation is in need of help --- Please, somebody show me Iím wrong

On my 05 DL650 I got a couple weeks ago, I got a copy of Suzuki's limited warranty. Give me a fax number and I'll fax you a copy, if that's what you are after.

Seems to me that it is printed in the owner's manual as well as in a seperate small pamphlet. Go back to your selling dealer and request the rest of the documentaion that you did not receive. Heck, I think I even got another copy in the mail a few days after I bought mine.

I got a wallet sized card that I keep on the bike... has all the pertinent info on the bike... *Besides... once the bike is sold the dealer input the VIN into Corporate database. Every Zuk dealer has access to the same database where everything is loaded via VIN..... :^0

Maybe Suzuki Canada works differently, but I received an information package by mail about 2 weeks after I bought the bike. Included was a feedback form, some corporate info and a detailed warranty...

I do find it a bit odd that you wouldn't receive anything in writing defining limits to the warranty?

Cheers,
Lucky
