Moonshine Lunchrun 2013

Checking to see if anyone else is heading to the Moonshine Lunchrun this year.

It is in Moonshine, IL the weekend of April 13th. Search for it on the web for more info. I went last year and camped at the "family farm" that is made available and met a lot of great folks.

I will be heading down from mid-Michigan probably on the Thursday prior.

I'm doing an Iron Butt Moonshine Run SS1000 in conjunction with this event. I'll be riding from Kansas City westward to Norman Oklahoma, then back eastward to Casey IL to log the 1000+ miles to the Moonshine Lunch Run.

Sweet! Good luck...considering it, but haven't planned too much for an IB at this point. I believe I have to ride about an hour or so southwest of St. Louis and then back to Casey.

I'm camping at Terry's farm. I did the "dirty" ride last year and it was a lot of fun and dirty....a lot of stupid slick mud at the beginning, a lot of good dirt/gravel roads in the middle, mixed with some slick as snot farm/grass roads.

Good times for sure!

I hope to make a Saturday morning run over, eat a burger, meet some people, and ride back home that afternoon.

Well, got back from the MLR 2013 about 3 hours ago. It was sooooo great to get home to see my wife and girls! Having said that, I certainly again had a great time at the MLR!

Recognized faces and caught up from last year and met plenty of new folks as well. As usual, a fun, laid back crowd...and as usual, crazy weather! Nonetheless, a blast!

We'll see what Mother Nature has planned for MLR 2014!

Oh yea, again rode in the "dirty" ride and had a blast! Few water crossings, lots of gravel, some really, really nasty goo/slime that EVERYONE had a hard time on...just some more than others...and beautiful farm country!

Thanks Don for leading the ride....I, as well as I'm sure everyone who participated, appreciate you taking the time to plan out the route.

I made it home at 4:30pm today from the Moonshine Lunch Run. Did the MTF/IBA Moonshine SS1000 on my way there. Rode 18 hours on a 2012 Wee stock seat. Made it but I'm seriously looking into a seat mod or upgrade. Also have 12K on my stock tires, now down to the wear bar on the rear, front still has another 2-4K left on them but will be changing both this week.

There was a good turnout for this year's Moonshine.
