Alright!! Finally ready. I was a bit worried there as last week, the bike wouldn't start. My wife said that I had been neglecting it. Letting it sit too long in the garage without riding. Believe me, you don't want to ride in Montreal these days - heat, construction, detours, crappy roads and traffic jams everywhere.
After having a bike that wouldn't start, I checked the starter switch (thanks Barry (BlackLab) for the detailed instructions) only to find the wires corroded, frayed and burnt - read fried together. So I ventured on to change the started switch myself and while doing the taking things off part, I found the radiator overflow nipple just hanging there on the end of the hose disconnected from the radiator. Thanks to the Tech forum (and Hartmut's (Blaustrom) post) I JB Welded it back on.
I finally got everything together last night only to find that it wouldn't start :-(
Back to the tech forum. Thanks Greywolf (RIP) for that notice about checking the tiny connector under the clutch. Somehow mine got disconnected. Plugged back in and guess what? It started!! Too late last night for a spin.
I took it for a spin over to the gas station this morning about 10 minutes each way and no issues. Yeah!!
Lodging is booked - looking forward to seeing all your happy faces soon.
