suggested long time ago - why not to make it one after another...

This date has been the date for the Eastern V STrom Rally. The Romney event has been held before the V Strom rally. Until this year. I doubt if the overlapping dates will have much effect on attendance, as the V Strom Rally is a V Strom event where Romney is not. But it was nice for some, those that attended both. Which I had been considering this coming year. I missed both last year, but will be at the Eastern V Strom Rally again for 2018.

The Romney gathering is more about the riding, y'all are either gonna be in a tent or in a hotel.

There is great riding at both events! If you really know your way around, Romney probably has some better off road routes. If you want technical asphalt riding, then the V Strom Rally in NC is about as good as that gets. Not that both don't have some of each.

Stated very well Terry, but I believe I enjoy riding in WV overall better, much much less traffic and no tourists. The Ironhorse is the finest moto lodge in the country, the ammenities and customer service is unparalleled, but the folks at the Romney dealership put on a very nice gig.

Certainly don't like the the overlap, but unfortunately May was very tight this year. We all know better than to mess with Mother's Day, not even a thought on that one. That left us with the 18-20th, or Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is a family weekend, and tougher for some to justify heading out on their own. Pushing into June was not something we were able to consider this time around.

Although I would prefer to not have overlap, I suspect many people would be not to be able to pull off two events within a couple of weeks of each other. My guess is most people would need to pick one or the other regardless of overlap or not. Of course I could just be projecting my own situation on everyone else. If that's the case, please tell me your secret on how to get a pass for multiple back to back events. That's the kind of information I could use.

This just makes good sense Jon, the weather makes a big difference in just a few weeks either way.
