Did another Colorado ride last week - Durango north to Rangely. No fires, no smoke, no crowds, was nearly perfect!

Two or three of us will be riding to Montana as soon as we can agree on a date to scope things out. I ran into a guy in Palisade, Colorado last week who lives in Montana, near the Beartooth....he told me the grizzly population in Montana is 1,050. Just food for thought.

Plan on the same weekend next year, I'll post the location as soon as I can.

Rangely ut:
Spent the 2 worse years of my life there!
One year Im going to go ride the Pass from Fruita over to Rangely just to see if its as bad a rode as I remember as a kid or if it was just because I was a kid and not in control of the vehicle.
I'll watch next years dates, but it falls so close to my Son and Grand Daughters birthdays that my budget gets killed.
Mike

I really like the road from Loma to Rangely, I can't even guess how many times I've ridden it, and enjoy it every time. Rangely has a very good car/bike museum. If you want to see some pix of the vehicles check out the latest entry on my blog.
Hope you can make it next year.

I got caught in a cattle drive on that road. Stinking walking hamburgers and their calves and a lot of crap on the roadway. Fun!
Generally scenic though.
Neater was the Dino exhibit on the North end.

If anyone wants to do the recon ride with us; we're going July 6 - 8. Details still liquid...

edit to add. We had to slip a couple of days because the parks were booked for the holiday weekend. So Don (nvr2old) and I will meet in Gardiner, at the Yellowstone RV park, on the 7th stay for 2 nights.

Was great seeing you again Steve. Enjoyed the ride with you Sat. Think you were the high mileage man from the meet.
