Daytona Bikeweek

Daytona BikeWeek is fast approaching. March 4 - 13, 2016. If you haven't been to one, it is quite a site.

Don't be intimidated by the fact that it used to be all cruisers, now you will see everything.

It would be nice to see a few StromTroopers there. I plan to take my hacked (sidecar) Wee and enter it in the sidecar show just for the heck of it.

Please respond if you plan on attending.

Ken
IBA #47980 (SS1000, 50CC, Border-to-Border 36)
Current Rides include:
2012 Harley Limited
2011 WeeStrom ABS (Velorex sidecar now gone).
1981 Yamaha XS 650 Special
1968 BSA (441) Shooting Star

Or just for the hack of it. Could we see a picture, or a dozen, of your rig please?

Edit. I think I have seen one or two now that I see the "velorex' in your sig. Happy to see some more though. Cheers.

Coops.

Some people are like clouds. When they go away it makes the day seem brighter.

Hey Buddy, missed you in May....... (but understand why.......too much seat time two weeks before the Rally).

I still have my Yeller Wee.......and after loosing my ZRX1100 last March on the way to BW, I traded 2-3 bikes the next 6 months and ended up with a little Honda CB500X.........which is a "Hoot" to ride. Very lite (or, at least it feels that way) and plenty of power to keep me in trouble. I've added some farkles and bling........will have it at BW in 7 weeks.

I went to Daytona back in '83 had a great time. I remember the Volusia County sheriff blocked off a street and set up a drag strip, lots of fun to watch. Always lots of things do. Bike shows, manufacturer tents and much more. Have fun and ride well.

Went yesterday (I live 1.5 hours away) and watched the flat track racing. Had a blast with two friends who rode Goldwings down with me. Left at noon, wandered around the vendor and manufacturer's area. Almost pulled the trigger on a Suzuki factory adventure jacket for $120, but balked as winter is almost over in FL. Parked the bikes in the best spots at the flat track, walked across the street to eat at a brew house. Came back and walked through the paddock and talked with some of the riders, snagged some free swag. Then watched the mayhem. Good time. More flat track tonight. If you are close by and thinking about it, ... GO!

$120 for the Suzuki adventure jacket??? Was it used? How is that price possible? I think the cheapest I found it was Oneida Suzuki for $180 plus shipping.

Was all set to go and wouldn't you know it, a tooth decided to start pounding. I'm really glad it didn't wait till I was down there. Included in the ill fated trip, was going to Auto Geeks car show in Stuart, the weekend after bike week. As they say, the best plans, etc., etc.
Had to do a root canal, but was instant relief, so no regrets here.
