I'm a "regular" at the Festival........have had a Swap Meet Booth H-30 every year there (except the first year.......rained all weekend and was a mudpit). Many changes since year #1.......Swap Meet now has about 450 spots. I went to Mid-Ohio Vintage Days back in 1999 & 2000......was blown away back then by the size. Barber's event is different in so many ways......the grounds are manicured like a CC, the Museum is World Class, and lots of motels close-by. During the event is the only time the basement of the Museum is open to the Public......you get to see where all the Restoration takes place. Employees get to take particular bikes out of the museum and ride them around the perimeter road.....how cool is that!!
Note: the event is getting so big, and traffic so congested, that they are now charging $10 per day per car for parking inside the complex......bikes are not charged. Also, go to their website and look at the Ticket Info (bracelets now, no tickets).......bracelets must be purchased on-line prior to the event.....or, you can purchase a bracelet at the Hampton Inn (across from the Bass Pro Shop) on Friday/Saturday the day of the event. Satellite car/truck parking will also be across from the Barber Entrance Sign, with shuttle service to the complex........BUT, YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE YOUR TICKETS!!! If anyone is looking for a motel room, I suggest the Highway 280 area.....near the Colonade, or Summit Mall........nice area (safe) and lots of eateries up and down hiway 280 there......only 25 minutes to the track. The Eastwood Mall area is "sketchy" as far as Security, as well as downtown B'ham.
