Anyone going to Barber Vintage Days in early October?

I had a blast at the AMA Vintage days this year and I'm thinking about going to the Barber Vintage Days in early October. Just wondering if anyone has been there or is going this year. Have wanted to see the museum for a while and this seems like a good chance.

I'm coming from Ohio so I may shoot thru WV and ride the BRP on my way there. I'm soon to be unemployed so I'm trying to make the most of it while it lasts.

Any experience you have with this event, I'd love to hear abou it.

I've never been to Barber Vintage Days, always afraid the snow would be too deep to get home.

I have been to the museum though, and it is fantastic! I spent the whole day there and loved every minute of it. Take your camera.

I think Mark444 goes to Vintage Days about every year. Lives next door or something. If he doesn't chime in, you could PM him.

here's a along ride report for a trip I did there back in 2010 or something... A whole bunch of first's - Toronto to Alabama (Barber Museum) Oct. 6th-15th | Adventure Rider
after getting off the BRP, you have some amazing choices for your route to get down there.

I'm a "regular" at the Festival........have had a Swap Meet Booth H-30 every year there (except the first year.......rained all weekend and was a mudpit). Many changes since year #1.......Swap Meet now has about 450 spots. I went to Mid-Ohio Vintage Days back in 1999 & 2000......was blown away back then by the size. Barber's event is different in so many ways......the grounds are manicured like a CC, the Museum is World Class, and lots of motels close-by. During the event is the only time the basement of the Museum is open to the Public......you get to see where all the Restoration takes place. Employees get to take particular bikes out of the museum and ride them around the perimeter road.....how cool is that!!
Note: the event is getting so big, and traffic so congested, that they are now charging $10 per day per car for parking inside the complex......bikes are not charged. Also, go to their website and look at the Ticket Info (bracelets now, no tickets).......bracelets must be purchased on-line prior to the event.....or, you can purchase a bracelet at the Hampton Inn (across from the Bass Pro Shop) on Friday/Saturday the day of the event. Satellite car/truck parking will also be across from the Barber Entrance Sign, with shuttle service to the complex........BUT, YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE YOUR TICKETS!!! If anyone is looking for a motel room, I suggest the Highway 280 area.....near the Colonade, or Summit Mall........nice area (safe) and lots of eateries up and down hiway 280 there......only 25 minutes to the track. The Eastwood Mall area is "sketchy" as far as Security, as well as downtown B'ham.

Thanks for the info. I'll get me tickets ordered and my hotel reserved ASAP. Think I'll show up early Friday and head back late Saturday or Sunday morning. My wife went to the AMA event and I was surprised how much she enjoyed it. (Me too). Love to see the old bikes of my youth.

Whoo... Hoo... !!!

If they finish it in the fall of 2016, it should be a good stop on the way to or from the 2017 Eastern V-Strom Gathering.

I heard a "rumor" that the new expansion may include "items" other than Motorcycles....
Some say he has Dirt Bikes to display.....I know I have seen "restored" outboard motors in the Museum a few years ago, but I can't see many folks getting excited over boat motors. The rumor I heard is "over the top" (hint)..........
