North East Vstrom Rally 2015 - Camp and ride at Old Forge, NY

Date: July 31, 2015 - August 2, 2015

Location: Old Forge Camping Resort, Old Forge, NY

Here is your chance to join some great people on a weekend of riding, eating and forming new friendships with other motorcyclists- all are welcome including new riders. This year we will have a group for new riders/picture takers that will travel at a leisurely pace (speed limit) on pavement only. If you are a new rider this is the perfect opportunity to try out your first group ride without having to worry about egos or keeping up to fast paced riders!

Typically we have 60-70 people show up for this event! The group rides are broken into several smaller groups. There will be a group for EVERYONE. Like to ride fast and carve up the twists? there is a group for that! Are you a new rider? Don't like the dirt roads? We have a group for that too! There will also be a "slow" group, the pace will be leisurely with frequent stops for taking pictures, sight seeing, etc.

Please let us know you are coming here:

IMPORTANT: When you book your site let them know you are traveling with the NEVA V-Strom group so that we can all camp together!

Please download the emergency contact sheet and have it with you!!! . It's very important! Having someone tell the first respondents your name is "Tenny80" is of no use to them lol.

great news

Chirosyd has secured dinner for NEVA riders on Saturday night at the campground. This is what everyone wanted-to be together around the campfire, eat and shoot the bull.

The food manager at the water park next door will be bringing dinner over at 7 p.m. Salad, barbecue chicken, sausage and peppers, salt potatoes, coleslaw and fruit desert. Garden burgers for those who don't eat meat. They come recommended, and the cost will be 20. per person including everything but drinks. I believe we are very lucky. This way, we can come back to the campground after a day of riding, sit our asses down, eat and drink to our hearts content, and enjoy the experience.

Groups- please get your routes down if you choose to do a preplanned route. For anyone that has, or is in the process of building routes, please share them with us- thanks!

Hello Fellow Riders,

Thank you for signing up to attend NEVA 2015. Chirosyd has kindly arranged dinner for us on Saturday evening. It will be catered to us at the campsite at 7 p.m. and includes everything but drinks and alcohol. This type of Saturday night dinner around the campfire will give us a chance to mingle and talk. The menu includes salad, barbeque chicken, sausage/peppers/onions, salt potatoes, coleslaw and fruit for dessert at a cost of $20 per person. This includes taxes, gratuities and firewood.

If you have a paypal account please make a payment to [email protected] as a gift in the amount of $20 per person. Please be sure it sent so no fees are deducted from the $20.

For Canadian residents who wish to use Email Money Transfer please send it to [email protected]

If you do not have a pay pal account or EMT please p.m. chirosyd, so you can send him a check.
Thank you for your cooperation. I am sure this will turn out to be a great dinner and a great weekend!

I'd love to be there if I can. A new knee is on the schedule for March, The old knee kept me off the bike last year except for the 200 miles where the avatar pix was taken -- Whitehorse Gear in N. Conway, NH.

Tenny80,
Thanks also for this thread. Now that we have the threads up and running, we can solidify all the other aspects of this weekend. The goal of course is to keep NEVA going strong. There are many riders , including myself, who look forward to this get together as one of the highlights of the riding

Not a problem, I am on the computer a fair bit as I use it for a living so I don't mind helping out this year until you can take over your rightful place next year!

I like the idea of having a BBQ. I am not sure how difficult that would be though to implement though. A dinner for 60+ people, clean up, etc is no easy task.

I'm good either way, heck one trip last year i had a cold can of zoodles for dinner LOL

As far as routes go i'm more then willing to "pre ride" them. I'm a fairly new rider, next year will be my 3rd year on a bike so I can give the "newbie" feedback haha.

As far as routes go though, maybe having 5 or 6 different rides wouldn't be such a bad thing either. Let the group leaders pick there own routes based on the "type" of group they have.

I think you will do fine. I had a knee done December 2013 and was back on the bike in March (two weeks after I stopped the blood thinners - I could have ridden earlier but for that).

Good luck. Maybe I'll see you in August.
