NEVA 14 Camping Only Problem ??

I have TENTATIVELY picked a semi governmental camp ground for NEVA 14 *
( There are hotel, motels NEARBY but not on site)

Historic Valley Campground, North Adams, Ma
Full Bathroom perhaps room for breakfast (not arranged)

It does NOT have any 'solid structures'' cabins motel etc.

There is I believe some Commercial campgrounds around Pittsfield, Ma where there may be cabins and or trailers to rent

What say you

Is camping only a deal beaker as I WONT COME

* The cost of a tent plus sleeping bag is LESS that the 1 night in a motel

Please post

What kind of adventure rider sleeps in a hotel? Get a tent, sleeping bag, and enjoy the stars overhead.

Camping works for me! Hot showers are a nice luxury but not essential.

Rich,
Make it easy on yourself and keep it simple. While it is easier to throw your stuff in a motel/hotel room and be "set up", I do not believe a camping only trip would stop someone from attending. Besides, there are motels/hotels nearby - a minor inconvenience.

I will be attending the motorcycle show on Saturday December 14th at the Javitz Center. Hope to sit on the '14 Vee2. May have the bike already broken in by NEVA '14.

Camping only - no problem.

Hi Rich,

I do like the option of a motel/hotel, but that is only in case of inclement weather. However, (and I don't want to jinx anything here) the Gods have been smiling on us not too badly the past 2 years, so camping only will be fine.
I'll attend anyway just to see all those smiley faces early in the morning.

Plus in cease you guys haven't seen this post yet (on the Canadian site) we can all sit around the campfire at night and make camping stoves.
Give me a full can of beer and I'll make you a stove - chek it out - simply brilliant!!!

Looking forward to see you all in 2014.

DannyC,
Great info on fabricating a camping stove. Is that what you Canadians do all winter! Can't wait to spend some weekend time making one myself and bringing it on the Berkshire trip.

Garage
NEVA 14 an added adventure

Would be nice to make bed in a motel after a day of riding. However tenting down and a bed roll will not be a problem. The company of the NEVA crowd is the draw. Bring on the spring riding. My bike went under cover today as snow fell on the ground.

Just curious why you want to be in North Adams. I thought we would be closer to Great Barrington-Stockbridge. I'm a bit prejudice as I ride a lot there.

I can't defend the decision a great deal

Boys seem to like Mtns and its across the valley from Greylock they can do a side trip

and has services such as larger restaurant

Its relatively cheap

I am keeping the ride a little north include Zoar Greenriver 116 etc.

I am Lazy, I love the eagle restaurant at the rt2 hair pin

I feel a psychic connection ?

I'll be back! I like to tent. Missed most of the ride this year as my buddy was the fellow who dropped it on Hurricane Road (he's okay but I don't think he's getting another bike). I like the mountain rides up there (only been up there once).
