Are we done camping in New England ?

Time is getting short, but I'd still like a simple no frills camping trip. Cape Cod, White Mtns or what have you. It would have to be in the next week or two (hunting season starts) but it might be possible. Any thoughts ??.........TD

I was as far north as Plymouth, NH today (Laconia, Gilford, etc) and didn't see a single open campground. That doesn't mean there aren't any.

Latest in the year I've camped in NE was Sept 30 in CT. That was the day the state park there closed. I know some MA state parks (like Wampatuck) closed this week.

I was at Clarksburg State Park, in western MA this past weekend, I believe they were open another weekend or two. Dolly Copp never closes its gates. (they also plow in the winter, not very pertinent on this forum)
FWIW, the auto road up mt greylock was cool, so was the hike up thunderbolt ski trail, def recommend riding there, the way I went, thought I was still in VT!

Gotta be a bummer. We "warm climate" types don't even think about putting the bike away or for that matter , if campgrounds are going to be open. Reality of life. Hope you get that last good camp out in before winter sets in.

if you're in to camping. They list campouts every month of the year I believe.
I'll be at Pachaug again this year.

You would enjoy a Pachuag Camp and ride

I may be there maybe just camping with my sons as I can't ditch them while riding
