SC V-Strom Get-Together

For any Stromer out there. We are planing a South Carolina, and southern
North Carolina, get-together meet & eat on December 4 @ high noon @ the Lone Star Mercantile & Barbecue http://www.lonestarbarbecue.net/ in Santee, SC. May do a ride after and return for supper.

Saturday, 5-9 p.m. Stewed Shrimp and Grits Shrimp stewed with tomatoes, bell peppers and onions in the Low Country Tradition. Always served with stone ground grits. Plus all the usual barbecue & deserts.

This is not great riding country but I'm sure we could find something to do
for a few hours. Like invade Ray's Suzuki (good apparel section) in Sumter
or such.

If anybody wants to hang around for the evening, there are several very
inexpensive motels a short distance up the road from Santee. Also Santee State Park for camping.

If interested or need info email me directly:

I am REALLY tempted to try this ride if I'm not under 2 feet of snow by then.

How far south do I need to get with a trailer to be sure I'm out of snow ?

Starting up in Owen Sound, Ontario where I will almost certainly need a trailer.

Depends, but that time of year I would guess below New York or maybe Pennsylvania.

Weather for the Meet & Eat is looking good.

Santee, SC for Saturday the 4th
Mostly sunny. Highs around 60. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Should be well into the 50's by noon.

If my seat doesn't make it back from Russel (those guys are never on
time), I will be on my yellow & gray checkerboard beemer. Either way
I'll be there.

See you

No snow here, it warmed up significantly yesterday. But I left the now very clean Strom in the garage and took out the Harley 883 I picked up a few weeks ago. It needed a good run, as the previous owner had lost interest in it. Autosol, t-cut and truckloads of elbow grease later I now have a 1978 883 with less than 3k on the clocks in showroom condition, Stage 1 tuned with Screaming Eagles.

Wife says she is now gonna get her license and assume ownership. So much for the plans for 2005 DL1000!

Just a few days left to get your lodging reservations in. If camping none needed. But I would like to know if your coming so I can get enough scrimp for the Frogmore Stew.
