My wife and I have an opportunity to possibly take a two week vacation in Europe this summer.
It will be an organized motorcycle tour; you know fly in and ride.
We are fortunate to have done this twice before and loved it. My question concerns what type of winter you’re having. Here in the US we’ve had a mild winter with low snow fall amounts due to an Arctic Cap. At first I assumed it would be the same for Europe but I see on the news that you all have been getting blasted with snow (saw somebody had to dig out and up from their home in Romania
). I’m concerned about road closures in the higher elevations well into the early summer.
I’m looking at these three different trips. The first starts as early as May 29.

The third starts on June 13.
Western Alps Tour 2012 | RoadRUNNER Motorcycle Touring & Travel Magazine
The highlights include: Matterhorn (one of the most beautiful mountains in the world), Mont Blanc (highest of Europe), Cime de la Bonette (highest pass of the Alps), Grand Canyon de Verdun, Provence and Cote d’ Azur, Lake Maggiore, many other passes and attractions.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. If it’s a bad year in these parts of Europe over these dates we’d just stay here and probably spend the time on our west coast. Who knows what the future holds but I don’t see us getting another chance to see Europe like this for a long time if ever.
