Do Givi Trekker Outback side cases need to be different sizes?

I am planning to buy a leftover 650XT this winter to replace my FJ-09 that was totaled in a crash this summer. I have seen some photos of side cases, Givi Trekker Outback and Suzuki aluminum that use a 48L on the left and a 37L on the right. Not sure if this is necessary on the '17-'19 XT. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That was only an issue when the exhaust came up high, like on my 2015 650. The new models don't have this issue and can finally look symmetrical with both sides having the same size luggage.

Two wheelz for realz!

That being said, there is a law of diminishing returns.. I wouldn't recommend going this big unless you're riding 2up.

If you are not interested in Symetrical run what you like. I had two normal size bags on a BMW R100GS. it made my butt look big, so what.

2x37 GIVI work fine and look good. There are a few times when on camping trip I wish I had at least one a little bigger . 2017 650XT

The Givi Trekker Dolomiti cases are also spaced evenly on the '17+...
