No problem. Here is the absolute least expensive way to put in an over the dash GPS mount. Simply drill four holes in the windscreen. It's been done before, you just have to be OK with drilling holes in your screen. You can probably the mount there in Canada.

Another option i to use the ram mount ball that screws into the handlebar mount.

I used MacDoc's set up on my DL650 until I started making parts. It works.

You could skip the expense of a gps mount and go with a tank bag with a window. Espeacially if you use a earplug headphones. That way you are less dependent on the screen. Heck, you could stick the phone in your pocket. I did that on my ST1300, but I had a communication system that integrated music, passenger communications, gps, radar detector, and microwave oven. I don't miss it. Too many wires.

I got bluetooth system to replace it. Never actually hooked everything up while on the strom. Passenger and bike to bike communication with helmet speakers and stereo ear plugs for music works fine.

Sorry, tangent over.

Yeah I navigate with earphones a lot tho sometimes at interchanges you need the visual.
Especially when the app matches what you see perfectly

I don't bother with a USB from bike set up anymore ...just a power pack in the tank bag.

The downside with putting the phone in the clear window on a tank bag is it overheats very quickly.
