engine bottom rough, porous normal?

just was doing first oil change and engine bottom didn't look so pretty and glossy as sides,
all v-stroms like that?

I think that's like saying the soles of my shoes look a bit rough. I don't think many engines are given too much regard to areas people don't see. Besides the Weld86 skid plate hides it and it is beautifully finished.

I am just comparing to my honda and yamaha which gas much smoother belly

Some MFG's cut corners where they can to save a little bit on each unit they make.
as stated above areas that are not seen by consumer may not be as well Polished.
Fit and finish is all about what the consumer SEE'S . Be thankful the bike is engineered
better than many that may have a smooth engine case on the bottom.
