Nice idea. Last time I had to do this, I used my Harbor Freight brake fluid bleeder pump.

L2 DL650 Adventure

bike X miles=smiles
smiles bike=miles
miles smiles=bike.
It's simple math.

Meh, I don't care for them.

Nice. Why is checking the oil on the center stand (on a flat surface) a bad idea? I always assume that it's level.

I wondered that too. I would think that holding it upright would be less reliable.

It's not. I find the results to be the same, wheels on the ground vs center stand. It really doesn't matter if the rear wheel is a little high relative to the front. The angle of the oil level could changes slightly in the sight glass, but the height won't change significantly.
Big B likes this.

That's a neat idea. It would save on having to clean oil out of the reservoir on my Mity Vac. I'm actually kind of surprised that a a spray bottle pump will pump something as thick a motor oil. The more you know.....

Center stand on a level surface has not been a problem for me. I wish my wife's bike had a center stand, checking her oil is a pain in the azz!
