If the wreckee did not have insurance and is selling the wreck himself, there may be no title problem. He can transfer good title to you, you fix the bike, and the title stays clean. If his insurance company declared the bike a total loss, then it will get the salvage title. Different states have different requirements for getting the bike back on the road. In some states a clean title can be issued after inspection--other states have a salvage-rebuilt title. After more L2's get wrecked, there might be a clean frame with title available for sale, and you can transfer all the parts to that frame to end up with a bike with clean title.
"Older people who are reasonable, good-tempered, and gracious will bear aging well. Those who are mean-spirited and irritable will be unhappy at every period of their lives.
"Let each of use properly whatever strengths he has and strive to use them well. If he does this, he will never find himself lacking."
Marcus Tullius Cicero
