Has anyone tried the Happy Trails panniers (side case) mounting racks on the 2012 model? If so, I am interested to find out if fitment is good and the overall quality of the racks. I have been looking at these for awhile and curious to see if anyone has them. Any thoughts? The part number is HTP7-5-12.1.

I installed the Happy Trails rack on my 2012 as soon as the rack became available a few weeks after the 2012 was introduced (I had pre-ordered my bike and took delivery as soon as they arrived at the dealers). It appears to me to be a high quality item and installation was quite easy, although the fit was tight for the pieces that pass over the painted side panels, possibly marring the paint (I have never had the rack off since installation so am not certain). My rack was probably one of the first HT produced for the 2012 and perhaps they have modified it for more clearance since then.

The rack seems very strong and it can be used to mount some of the Givi panniers in addition to the HT panniers. I have used it to carry a set of Happy Trails largest panniers that I initially used on my KLR 650. Pictures of the panniers on this bike are on my website.

I have used many HT products over the past many years and have always found their products to be of good quality and their customer service excellent. The companies owners, Tim and Sherry Bernard, are also very fine, honest people.

I've had no trouble with HT. I've purchased two complete Teton pannier setups from them, first for my Versys, the past month for my 2012 WeeADV. I like their stuff so much that I replaced the boxes & racks that came on my new Wee adventure. Both times I had my orders within a week.
