Smile Impressive tank range!

I've just done 549 km (341 miles) between refuellings
Not even the XTZ 750 with 50% larger fuel capacity I was riding back in the 90s could match a range like that.

When refueling the Strom I was able to squeeze 19 liters into the tank - resulting in an average consumption of 28,9 km/l (68 US mpg).

The riding consisted primarily of backroads mixed with a bit of motorway and urban riding.

Those figures are impressive I must say.

I'll never be able to get those sorts of figures though. I'm either driving in traffic - stopping and starting every 30 seconds - or i'm on the motorway driving at 70-80mph, so I rarely get the chance to cruise at 40-55mph and get great mpg.

That is impressive. Really milking it I can manage 75mpg on my Ninja 500.
On my new to me k7 my first 2 commuting fills have been at 60.9 and 60.2 MPG. I am sure I can squeeze more out of if it but I am not sure I can get your MPG.

Start a fuellyl, com account and track it for a while to see how it goes for an average.

I went to 305 miles, then I chickened out. Still had 1/2 gallon of fuel left I think.

At speeds over 65 MPH MPG drops I noticed. Also removing the intake snorkel loses about 3 mpg. It's a bit peppier up top but it stumbles a bit down low so there is a trade off.

2012 Suzuki DL650AL2, over 45k miles already!

Well done, I had wondered if you could reach that amount of k's on one tank.
Haven't been willing to really test how far you can go but theoretically you should get 550km.
I've gone a bit over 480km with around 3-4L left in tank when refilled as it took between 16 and 17L worth of fuel.

A few Aussies have got that sort of range as well.

Mainly roads where you really can only do 80-100kph safely.

On road it's near the range of a GSA, offroad where the GSA gets a bit thirsty, quite a bit more. Fairly impressive.

Now all I need is my bladder to be a couple of litres larger and I'll be able to use that range

I recently rode hwy 13 in Idaho, a nice twisty canyon hwy and traffic was almost non-existant for 50 some miles, in that time I was putting averaging 45 miles per hour, at the end of the road my computer showed a high of 75.4 and a low of 68.9..........
