Old Wee 2012+ wee tank range

I have an 06 Wee I got new in 06. I take it on long round trips and so tank range is a plus for me on this bike. I can get anywhere from 175-185 miles before the reserve starts blinking when running super slab at an indicated 85mph. Once I'm at my destination and cruising around below 60 I get between 215-225 before the reserve starts blinking.
I have to say the new 2012 Wee looks VERY good. I was wondering with the tad smaller tank what kind of mileage you lucky ones who have one get for distance before the reserve starts blinking.

I get around 250 miles before I refuel. I used to do a little better than that on the Wee though. A lot depends on speed. I haven't taken the Glee out West yet so don't know the speed penalty.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Wow that's much better then I normally get. I do find that I get much better mpg's when I'm visiting one of my brothers in Maryland. Must be different fuel quality or something.
So are you saying you get about the same between your first gen Wee and your 2012?

The Glee seems to get a little better mpg but have a little shorter range. I think I may get better mpg than most because of the electronic cruise control.

I filled up this afternoon and put in 3.964 gallons and had 276.3 miles on the trip odometer. That's 69.7 mpg! That was all cruzing around 45 to 65mph, went up to the blue ridge last Thursday and touring around today up to pilot mtn. Prior to this i got 56 mpg riiding around town and back & forth to work. I'm very pleased with the mileage!

mpg

I consistently get from 54 to 59 mpg on my 2012 650ABS. On my last fill-up I got 59.6mpg, that was two-up on the highway. My longest tank so far was 245 miles. At that point the "pump" had been blinking for about 35 miles, and the last bar had been blinking for about 5 miles. I put in 4.4 gallons for a yield of 55.6mpg on that trip. That was two-up with loaded side-cases, top-case, and tank bag.

Looks like about 40km more/tank if I'm cruising. If I'm cruising slowly (sightseeing), well over 500km/tank is possible.

It does depend on how hard you are on the throttle, the new DL has more power (run in - a LOT more - never managed a 3rd gear wheelie on my K6 ), ridden hard it'll get less than the old model.

Range

I have a 2012 Wee. I average 4 l/100kms indicated on the display, When the blinky fuel comes on I have put on 400 kms, so if you stretch the last bar you could get 500kms or 300 miles to a tank. I have found a huge speed penalty. Mileage will drop to 4.8-5 l/100km when ridden hard/faster than 120 kms indicated on the big roads, but around here thats not much fun anyway!

Keep the greasy side down!

Last fill I got 58 mpg.. 283 miles on about 4.8 gal US.. Local and highway run.. I'm impressed. My buddy on his new Triumph Explorer can only get about 200 miles per tank so our trips are gonna be about his tank range..

I'm impresses. Then again this was without side cases. I guess it'll go down with the pelican's on..

I'll tell on the next trip...
