Fork Brace?

I was reading a thread in the '04-'11 forum about first add ons. A fork brace was recommended among others. I've never ridden any V Strom besides my new one, a fork brace as a primary add on would never occur to me. It just doesn't seem necessary at all. Thoughts?

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Good thread discussion Mr. Grey. I'll finish up my break in and keep my inner ear open for qwirks of handling/performance. In Corpus, cross winds are normal with the daily average being 15-20 mph depending on where you are. I haven't noticed any handling difficulties that I can trace to the bike. I have no idea how well the wind screen actually works due to the above. I'll bet that I'll have a much better idea of the effectiveness of earplugs.

Since there are 5 pages on the subject at https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl650-20...eed-one-5.html , go there to continue the subject if desired. I see no need to continue this thread, especially since it is not a Glee specific question.
