What hard top cases fit directly with the Adventure model's rack?

I don't want the OEM one, the side panniers are all the OEM luggage I want. I'd like a hard case that fits right on the rack that the adventure model comes with, does anyone know of any such large-capacity, lockable hard case?

If not, do I have to purchase an adapter for something like a Givi?

Sorry I'm a newb at the strom thing, appreciate any help.

i don't have my bike yet but i plan on buying a cheap box from jc whitney, amazon or ebay. all have one that holds two full face helmets and comes with the adapter plate for less than $100. i've does this 3 times in the past and all work good. I have not seen the adv rack so at this point i don't know how it is made but it should only need 4 holes 'somewhere' and big washers or backup plates.

Well, unfortunatly. without modification to the stock Suzuki adv. steel rack the only thing that will fit is the Suzuki mount kit and top alum. box. I went to twisted throttle in Rhode Island, and even the Trax alum. box will not fix the Suzuki mount. They are both made by S W Motech, but the hole pattern is a Suzuki exclusive. I imagine with a creative cordless drill and some engineering we could adapt. Good luck. I ended up going with the Suzuki stuff.

just give it a little gas, it will be ok !!!

I went to the dealer that I bought the bike from. Suzuki just released a whole shipment. Mine came from the California wharehouse. Took about a week. Very nice piece too. Love the way it looks. And nice to have all the bags match.I was lucky enough to get 10% over dealer on all accessories from my local dealer, so the price good too.

just give it a little gas, it will be ok !!!

Adventure rack

I did not realize until just now that there was any difference between the ADV and base luggage racks. I have been really hating this rack for a few days now. I may remove it and make an old fashioned wire rack that a bungee will work properly on. I recently sold my 74 GT550 in favor of the dl and unless I leave the side bags installed for small stuff the gt550 rack was way easier to live with. I would like to stay away from a top box if I can (I think they look goofy without side bags) but this rack is a pain. I guess I am so out of date that I prefer my old rack from the 70s. I guess a tank bag would be a good solution but I am still getting used to having this giant gas tank in front of me.

Stromer - Can you post a model number for the top case and post a photo? Can you give any detials regarding the comment "Suzuki just released a whole shipment"?

There are two styles of top case considered to be "Suzuki" cases. I would like to know what it was you received. I have been waiting since June for a top case to show up.

And in a related matter, I'm also waiting for side cases for an adventure model. They were on the bike when I bought it, but no locks installed. I should have taken them with me, but left them at dealer for lock install and to be put on bike when other accessories were installed. Unfortunately they seem to have "gone out on some other bike", so until side cases and top case show up I have an adventure model with no cases despite having purchased all three. I guess there is a lesson there for future bike purchase - hopefully not needed for a long time.

Seems weird...my sides cases were damaged at the dealer and he replaced them in about a week. You should not be waiting for side cases. Your dealer needs a wake up call. If I paid for the Adventure I'd want everything that came with it and would not be waiting for side cases for very long. A call to Suzuki might help...I'd find another dealer.

Thumbs up Bestem 969 top case 46L (fits 2 full face helmets)

Mounted on my 2012 vstrom ADV DL650

Very nice case, waterproof, with brake lighting. Paid $69 used-like new. Originally $89. Has a universal mounting system.

In order to mount this on top the oem mounting bracket, two necessary steps are in order.
1. The supplied bolts will have to be cut n half because they are way to long
2. You will have to insert the bolt from the bottom side up, NOT from the top side down. If tried the intended way, you won't get the washer and screws on the bolt because there is very little clearance (1/2") btwn the oem mounting plate for the Suzuki top case and the luggage rack.
3. Make sure there is flat washer near the bolt head so the bolt won't slip through the slot on the mounting bracket when you tighten down the nut.

Tring to post pictures, but this website and the iPad are a little disagreeable.
Do you mean 929? Google doesn't seem to know about a 969.
