Howdy folks!

I've browsed this forum for at least 2-3 years when I was posturing like I was gonna get a V-Strom. Well, I pulled the prigger and got my bike. 2012 DL650 Adventure. You don't need to tell me what a great bike I got 'cause I already know! :-) I pick it up tomorrow. I did have a question - the local dealr didn't have it in stock so they had to pick one up. It arrived today, had the engine guard, boxes on but had the "plain" windscreen. Is that right? Everything I've seen shows the Adventure as having the Suzuki airfoil screen. I told the guy that it did not have the correct windscreen on it. I haven't signed anything on this bike yet. Feedback?

Thanks in advance.

You are correct that the adventure model is supposed to come with the Suzuki Vario windscreen, which can be seen on their website. Either ask the dealer for that windscreen or he may be willing to lower the price by the cost of the windscreen if you ask. I haven't heard great things about that vario windscreen that comes on the adventure model, so I would be inclined to take the standard w/s if he was willing to drop the price some.

Mine is a Canadian model, but I received both the Adv vario windscreen and the stock.

My ADV model came with the vario screen and I am very happy with it. The stock screen was also included.

Mine came with the vario installed and the standard on the side. The vario does a very nice job. I like it.

I think in some cases dealers have swapped parts from the ADV onto the standard DL650. Out of curiousity, when you mention yours came with the engine guard are you referring to the accessory mounting bars or a lower fairing? I think that would be a sweet deal to get the lower fairing instead of the ADV wind screen.

I am quite happy with the Vario. No buffeting at all. I guess not many comments mean most are happy with it? Stock screen was included as well as assembly removed from the rear carrier including the top pad. Canadian models have the top cases included.
