Removing Rear Turn Signals?

I have taken off my rear rack & seat, but the turn signals are way back in the end of the trunk. I cannot see how to get a tool back there on the rear retention nut. I can barely touch it with my fingers. Am I missing something?

You can take the rear fender off. Remove two more bolts and a pair of plastic rivets.

Then use a little muscle to get the plastic outer fender off the frame projections. Finally, separating the electrical connections and getting the cable release for the seat off and it's done.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

Thx GW, any ideas on how to get the friggin wires unplugged. You just press the little tab & pull, right?

I am pressing the tab & pulling on them very hard with 2 sets of needle nose pliers, but am accomplishing no more than marring up the plug connectors.

Pull up on the tab to disengage the connector halves and then pull them apart. It doesn't take much force.

It's not like there is any standard. The people who design connectors are sadists.

Yep. They make all the other connectors press to release but the turn signal connectors are lift to release.
