Alignment of brake and clutch levers

Hi folks, I moved my brake and clutch levers to suit being able to shade the levers easily in traffic. The manual mentions the need to align both levers with some dot (that I haven't found) on the handlebars. Is this important -- or can I just move the levers as I please? thanks

As long as they work, you're fine. Just make sure everything works properly. Don't let the clutch lever hit the flash to pass switch for example.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Talking right

Thanks for that GreyWolf -- Yes -- at one point I couldn't work out why the trip meter readout was changing all the time -- the clutch lever was hitting the meter select switch.

I had the same problem with the clutch lever hitting the Select switch and initially thought the problem was a faulty instrument.
