decisions decisions crash bars on my 2012

I am in the process of adding farkles, jesse bags on order, bags connection tank bag and factory hand guards installed. Looking for advise and opinions on crash bars to start. I hve read around some on the forum but it would be nice if members could post pics and a brief review of what they have. I have added a few brands to tne poll feel free to pm me if i missed anything.
Btw mine is the white on black base model.

I don't have any closeup pictures, but I the Altrider stainless crashbars on my 2011. They come in plain stainless or black. There were easy to put on, and the machining was super precise.

Hey Noexit,

Altrider is definetly a contender and they look good on your bike, would love to see how they mate with the lines on the 2012!

I'm using SVRacingparts sliders.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html

See they look a little low to be effective? Hmm wonder how the others will look, has anyone actually tested their crash bars in anger! How do the stand up and were they effective at protecting the bike?

AltRider bars and skidplate on the wife's 2012. Would definitely buy again. They look and fit great and are also functional :blushing:

Tipover at 0.063 MPH a slight scuff on handguards was the only other damage. Paid for themselves right there....

A piece of cardboard to put behind it, and a little black spray paint, and you'll never know it happened!

NO Hepco & Becker engine guards in the poll (that's what I have).

You saw mine a couple of weeks back, but here is another look. OEM Suzuki as part of the Canadian EXP package. A good deal as part of the package and I am happy with them but I would have likely gone aftermarket if I had to purchase them separately.
