So impressed with this bike

I am lucky enough to have just completed a roadtrip through U.K, France, Switzerland and Italy on a BMWgs800 and loved it. Returning to Canada I was worried that my NeWee would feel somewhat lacking......not at all
I cant explain it but it feels more relaxed at highway speeds and definately has better weather protection. Although not as much initial grunt as the beemer, once moving its impressive. Big plus is the coin I saved buying the Suzuki, will fund a few more memorable roadtrips around beautiful British Columbia.....all we need now is summer and that is just around the corner, bring it on.

The 800GS is probably a better Beast "off road" than the DL650,i say probably because the demo ride i did, with it, was mostly on the black stuff, with a 1000 feet of gravel (thanks to a construction zone). On the ashphalt, i prefered my DL650k7...and i like my DL650AL2 even more. There' something about shifting at 10000 rpm...can't do that on the Beemer.

Dat be the truth! But I've got 85 horses pulling like crazy when I'm at 8500!
After riding the Wee I get on the 800ST and it feels like a rocket.
When I get back on the Wee, it feels more comfy though.
I weighed them, they both were 490# on the public scale.

My friend, the owner of a GS 800, And I went for ride when he was in town a few weeks ago, he on my Vstrom adventure, and myself on the wife's Gladius. When we stopped for a break he exclaimed "I wasn't expecting that!". He followed with 5 minutes of critical praise and was totally in shock about how good the new wee is. I felt sorry for him as he admitted he should have waited for test ride on the new wee instead of buying the 800 in December.

This statement alone qualifies you as a rider instead of an owner.
