The new VR is a LOT better than the old one, now that I have my charge indicator installed I can see that after a few seconds, voltage is up to 'charging' levels at idle. My K6 needed to stay above about 4000rpm to get to the same point.
Almost certainly a Mosfet reg. now (It's definately Shindengen and much much better than the old VR). Probably another option for the owners of older DL650's and DL1000's if they want better performing electrics. (Not sure if it's plug compatible, be a no brainer if it was).
