Hex Bolt source needed

Does anyone have a source to purchase quality Hex bolts? I want to swap out silver/chrome for Black. I found a few sites but they all seem to be off brand and/or sold by shady websites. I would appreciate if someone could pass along a source for quality hex bolts, or at least confirm a site that has been good to deal with.

Don't even think about buying the bolts from Suzuki- I think they make theirs out of Gold... i think. :scared:

I had good dealings with these folks when I needed a very odd hex head bolt with the 1.25 pitch to fit the mirror mount.

They shipped quickly and I had it on the eastern US within about 4 days.

These guys have engine and fairing kits for Vstroms. To get black your probably going to be stuck with anodised aluminium.

You may just paint the bolt heads black with some automotive touch-up paint, I've done this myself and it keeps the bolt heads from rusting. Most web sites, like you mentioned, sell cheap quality fasteners, which aren't as good as what you're taking off! Ace hardware sells some decent bolts, Lowes sells bolts, but not any I would trust for something important. Napa is also a good place to buy bolts, but with all the big suppliers, they usually only sell by the box, which could be 100 or more of one size. Paint would be your cheapest option (IMO) Cheers--BB

Don't buy plain black steel bolts. They are just raw unpainted / uncoated steel bolts, they will rust very quickly.

Mcmaster-Carr has all kinds of screws/bolts........black also......but you must buy a boxfull (25-100 depending on length) just for one bolt size. I have the shiney SS Allenheads in stock to piece out instead of buying in bulk?
