Thanks,

John

Garage
I got one from Twisted Throttle.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

I bought one from twisted throttle. Sent it back. I was completely disappointed with the quality. The fit was mediocre with unfinished ends sticking out beyond the stock fender. The edges were roughsawn and poorly finished. And altogether a cheap, chinsy little piece of plastic for $40.00?!!!!. It looked like maybe $5.00 worth of effort.

Felt the same way. And mine arrived without the mounting screws. I snagged a few self tapping screws at the local hardware store, but chose not to keep it on the bike after all.

If another rider doesn't care or is of the mind to dremel the bitch into submission, I'll free mine up for the cost of shipping. Note it's got 2 mounting holes accurately drilled in the backside as per the instruction. CONUS only. Send a PM.

I agree that the price is a bit much for a simple piece of plastic, but when you consider the mold costs and limited sales numbers, the initial run costs must be hard to pay for. More like $25 would be worth it.

I look at it as all the expensive stuff it protects from road grime, small rocks, dead animal limbs, etc. Over the long run, it keeps a lot of crap off the bottom of your bike.

Yes, the fit and finish is mediocre, but look at what it's going to do, get slimed with road crud all the time....it's not a show piece.

A few better pics of mine.

and on my K bike

In the long run, I'd say it's worth it.

I agree that $40.00 is a big much for a piece of plastic, and Twisted Throttle wants $11.00 for ground shipping. Any other options. I know Murph carries them for the pre-'12's, but I don't think he has them for the new bike. I emailed him to see.

Replies appreciated...

Thanks,

Hello,

I just ordered the Pyramid Fender Extender from these guys:

Creative Cycle Concepts
P.O. Box 1625
Bothell, WA 98041-1625
Telephone: 425.485.3488
Email: [email protected]

Very responsive - order took about 3 minutes... They still have 5 in stock. Shipping was $6.00 and change...

Murph got back to me and said he does not have the fender extender for the '12 V - so it looks like the only game in town is the Pyramid Fenda Extenda...
