"S" BLING on fuel tank has to GO!

The big chrome "S" on the fuel tank sticks out like a sore thumb. I ordered a set of the reflective black decals to replace it. The reflective black is an off-black color and complement the color of the plastics on the bike. Plus, people won't have to ask me "what is that bike?".

I moved the luggage racks from the '03 Vee to the new Wee yesterday, I am waiting on the under cowl, hand guards, and light mounts.

I'm about to peal that S offa there too. I parked my 07 Vee in the sun at work one day, pealed 'em both off and like it better. It really cuts down wash day on the bike too, no sense having all that "chrome" to polish. How'd you get them off, heat and peal ? And, where'd you get the decals ?

A man after my own heart.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Hair dryer, then slide a piece of dental floss under the S and it they come right off.

I like the "S" logo too. I think it's tasteful and attractive, and I'm not a big fan of logo's.

I'm a fan, also, of the big "S".

Pat, you may get a lot of questions like, "Who makes that Greywolf motorcycle?"

I cannot say for certain, but my great Google-fu suggests the following:

buy decals Cypress Graphics, Signs, Banners, Lettering, Baton Rouge, Gonzales, Prairieville, Louisiana

Cypress Graphics is where I got them. Small size ( the one without the "trom" after the VS letters ) in reflective black. The reflective black has a much better look, more "factory". I bought both kinds, the plain black looks cheap.

I just heated them to where they felt warm to the touch. Get a finger nail under the edge and start pulling them off. Mine came off in pieces. The adhesive can be removed by "pushing" it off with your thumb. Just push your thumb across with some pressure and the adhesive will ball up/roll up cleanly.
