Front Forks - service diagram or anyone pulled them apart yet?

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me where I can get a service manual diagram of the front forks, or has anyone pulled theirs apart yet to play with emulators etc?

I want to see what the innards are like and how they may have changed to the earlier bikes with a view to increasing the ride height and front fork travel by 30mm or so. Like OhioPT did here:

Except for the axle pinch bolt on the 2012 switching sides, the parts relationships are identical to the older bikes. The following still apply for internals.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Does this diagram only apply to the 650 or is it the same for the 1k?

The Vee is different. It has a cartridge damper rather than a rod damper.

Greywolf, do you have the spec for the standard fork oil weight used in the 2012 650 forks please?

Any reviews of the race tech emulators? Where to get and how much?

I'm noticing that the suspension seems to blow through the travel when it gets hot out or agressive riding ensues. Looking for cheaper mods that work.

Try a full synthetic fork oil, and maybe a half-half mix of stock 10 wt and some 15 wt.

Not offhand. Check your manual.
