Little plastic tabs with ADV panniers

I remember reading in here that the little clear plastic tabs that come with the Adventure panniers are intended to tighten the locks somehow. Is that true? If not, what are those little tabs for? I have one mounting bracket/mechanism that's a bit loose, even when locked down (the latch isn't tight as it should be IMHO). I've been inserting bits and pieces of this & that to tighten that mechanism, but I think (remember?) that somehow that's what the tabs are for. True?

Are you talking about the little stickers? I used them under my locks to prevent rattles. The top case lock rattled like crazy without it.

I would stick them wherever there is a rattle.

If you would like the latch to be tighter, then remove the box and adjust the metal plate (attached to the rack) so that it is a little further away from the latching mechanism (when the box is mounted).

I just finished adjusting all of mine because they were a bit loose for my taste.

The stickers will shore up the lock cores, but they will not make the latch any tighter when closed.

Best spot to place one is the underside of the lock right where the clip is (the clip that holds the lock cylinder in). That's where the latch vibrates the most. One sticker there does wonders

Mine didn't come with the stickers (but it did come with the de-waxing wipes). Any one have a pic do the stickers so I can get an idea of something to use in their place.?

Cool thanks. Looks like duct tape may work as a substitute.
