2012 vs Older Wee

Hi Guys,

I wanted to get some opinions from the guys that have had the pre 2012 models on what they think of the new ones.

I've heard bits and pieces but I thought a thread on it might help the undecided.

I'm mostly interested in engine differences, transmission shift and overall thoughts on the updated 2012.

We interrupt this marriage to bring you the riding season.

I've never owned the old V-Strom, but my girlfriend has a 2006 that I've ridden several times.

It's a comfy ride except for the seat and wind screen (too much buffeting).

Last year I took the new V-Strom for a test ride, and I find that all the small opdates sums up to a significantly better ride.

Much better seat, wind protection and suspension. A bit more power full engine and smoother gearbox. Better balance and lower COG og last but not least, I think that the 2012 looks soooo much better than the old version.

Before I rode the new V-Strom, my plan was to buy a Tiger XC this spring - now I have orderd a 2012 V-Strom instead.
